Terms of Service

The agreement, in plain words.

These terms explain what Pepper is, what it is not, and where responsibility sits. The most important thing to know: Pepper offers perspective and helps you coordinate, but the decisions, and the doing, always remain yours.

The heart of it

Pepper helps you decide what deserves attention. It does not make decisions for you, it does not act on its own, and it is not professional advice. You stay in charge of your household.

Section 01

Acceptance

By accessing or using Pepper, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Pepper. If you join a household someone else set up, these same terms apply to you when you accept the invitation. Pepper is operated by Centa Partners.

Section 02

What Pepper is

Pepper is a household decision-support and coordination service. It is designed to help you:

  • understand what deserves attention
  • identify what can wait
  • reduce unnecessary mental load
  • reflect on household commitments

Pepper is not a task manager, professional advisor, or automated decision-making system.

Section 03

Advisory nature

Pepper provides suggestions, observations, summaries, explanations and reflections. It is decision support: not a decision-maker, not an agent acting for you, and not a professional adviser. It forms no advisory or fiduciary relationship with you. You make every decision and you remain solely responsible for:

  • appointments
  • deadlines
  • commitments
  • financial decisions
  • parenting decisions
  • healthcare decisions
  • travel decisions
  • legal obligations
  • any actions taken based on Pepper outputs

Pepper never acts on its own. It does not buy, book, send, pay, sign up for, or invite anyone for you. When Pepper suggests who in the home might own something, that is a suggestion only. It allocates nothing and creates no obligation. Pepper is intended to support your judgment, not replace it. Please verify anything that matters before you rely on it.

Section 04

Accuracy & reading documents

Pepper may be incomplete, be inaccurate, misunderstand information, miss important information, or generate incorrect conclusions. It does not guarantee accuracy, and it does not guarantee that nothing will be forgotten or missed.

When Pepper reads something you give it (a photo of a school note or form, or the text of an email you forward or paste), it may misread it, miss something, drop an item, or get a date or amount wrong. The step where you confirm before items are added is your check: you decide what to keep and act on, and you stay responsible for those decisions. This does not change any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 10). Always check against the original document; please do not rely on Pepper's reading alone. Verify anything important before relying on it.

Section 05

AI-generated content

Pepper uses artificial intelligence to generate content. Outputs may contain errors. Outputs should not be treated as professional advice. Pepper's outputs are intended to assist reflection and decision support only.

Section 06

Reminders and notifications

Reminders, nudges and escalations are best-effort and are not guaranteed. They run on a schedule, can be delayed, may not arrive at all, and depend on your device, your notification settings, and services we do not control.

Please do not rely on Pepper as your only system for anything important, time-sensitive, or safety- or health-critical, and never for emergencies. Keep your own way of remembering the things that truly matter. Pepper is not a safety, monitoring or emergency service.

Section 07

Shared households

When you share a home on Pepper, the owner and members can see each other's items, who is holding them, and what has been marked done.

Suggested owners and assignments are suggestions only. Pepper does not authoritatively decide who is responsible for anything, creates no legal, parental, financial, contractual or other obligation between household members, and takes no side in any disagreement between you. The household activity history is a convenience view to help you coordinate. It is not a legal record, not proof that something was or was not done, and not evidence in any dispute.

Section 08

No professional advice

Pepper does not provide

  • legal advice
  • medical or health advice
  • financial advice
  • accounting advice
  • mental health advice
  • dietary or nutrition advice
  • emergency advice

Pepper is not a medical device and not a medication-management tool. Health-related items you add (appointments, follow-ups, medication reminders) are coordination reminders only and are best-effort; never rely on them for any health-critical timing or decision, and always follow your health professional's directions. Any food, meal or dining suggestion is general coordination only and is not nutritional, dietary or allergen advice. Always check ingredients, allergens and suitability yourself, especially for children or anyone with a medical or dietary need. For anything medical, legal, financial, dietary or otherwise professional, please seek an appropriately qualified professional.

Section 09

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining accurate information
  • reviewing important outputs
  • verifying critical commitments against the source
  • keeping your own record of anything important
  • managing your connected accounts
  • protecting your login credentials
Section 10

Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the guarantees that our services are provided with due care and skill and are reasonably fit for any purpose we have told you they are fit for.

Pepper is provided only as a decision-support and coordination service: it surfaces, organises, suggests and explains. Those guarantees relate to that decision-support function, not to the outcome of any decision you make or action you take. We do not promise, and you should not rely on Pepper to promise, that any item, date, deadline, form, payment or commitment will be captured, surfaced, remembered, read correctly, assigned, reminded, or carried out.

Section 11

Limitation of liability

This section is subject to your consumer rights above, which always come first.

To the extent the law allows us to limit our liability, Centa Partners is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of Pepper, including missed appointments, deadlines, commitments, payments or opportunities, or the consequences of a reminder not arriving.

Our total liability for all claims connected with Pepper is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Pepper in the 12 months before the claim, and (b) AUD $100. This limit does not apply to anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability under the consumer guarantees above, liability for our fraud, or liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence to the extent the law does not allow it to be limited.

Section 12

Availability

Pepper may change, be updated, suspended or discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Section 13

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached. Users may stop using Pepper at any time.

Section 14

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material we will update the effective date and let active users know where appropriate. Continued use of Pepper constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
